Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks open down
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks started slightly lower Friday morning as US lawmakers struggle to hammer out a much-needed new stimulus package to prop up the world's number one economy.
The Hang Seng Index dipped 0.09 per cent or 21.21 points, to 24,909.37.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.5 per cent or 15.88 points to 3,370.59, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange eased 0.3 per cent or 7.30 points to 2,297.22.
