MAINBOARD-listed Stamford Land, an independent owner-operator of luxury hotels in Australia and New Zealand, on Friday refuted an online article by Australian media outlet Nine News that suggested social distancing guidelines at Stamford Plaza Melbourne were breached after security contractors had tested positive.

Responding to The Business Times, the company said: "Stamford Plaza Melbourne did not breach any social distancing guidelines. On or about 13 June 2020, a security personnel hired by the Department (of Health) tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. This security personnel was not under the employ of Stamford Plaza Melbourne or its related companies.
