Saving Hongbao
If you find yourself left with an overwhelming number of empty red packets from Chinese New Year, don't just trash them - 'bank' them in. As part of its red packet sustainability campaign, United Overseas Bank is upcycling unwanted red packets. It's working with an international upcycling firm to turn red packets into functional furniture, which will then be donated to charity. Drop off your old red packets at 20 selected branches including Orchard, Jurong Point, Tampines and Parkway Parade from now till Feb 14. But of course, make sure you you don't leave any stray new notes in them before dropping them off.
