US reiterates commitment to Indo-Pacific as bilateral trade hits record US$2t in 2018

THE Trump administration is "extremely engaged and committed" to the Indo-Pacific region, US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross said, as he revealed a 6 per cent increase in two-way trade that reached a record US$2 trillion in 2018.
The Indo-Pacific covers 24 countries including South-east Asia, South Asia, Australasia and parts of East Asia, excluding China.
