THIS Monday marked the start of the last six months until one of the biggest adjustments the shipping industry has ever been required to make.

From Jan 1, 2020 merchant ships worldwide will have to use fuel with a sulphur content of less than 0.50 per cent or use alternative mitigation technologies.

The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has issued updated guidance to help ship owners comply with new International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations.
