The Observatory is coming out of hibernation to play BlackKajiXtra - Nusasonic, a special bumper edition of the experimental music series conceived by the band themselves and local distro Ujikaji. Held over two days, it will feature performances and panel discussions.
Also playing is Fauxe, whose excellent album Ikhlas (2018) recently received a vinyl release, and more. The Observatory now comprises Yuen Chee Wai and Dharma on guitars, efx and objects; and Cheryl Ong on drums. On the new line-up, Ong says, "This marks The Observatory's latest sojourn into wordless territories and atonalism, with influences from post-punk to free improv and experimental electronics."
BlackKajiXtra - Nusasonic will take place at The Substation on July 20 and 21. Doors open at 7pm. Check blackkajixtranusasonic.peatix.com to book tickets and view full line-up / schedule.
