Li-Fi instead of Wi-Fi and no more draughty offices
THE Surbana Jurong Campus will have dedicated space set aside for the test-bedding of new urban solutions developed by the SJ-NTU Corporate Lab. In a "living lab" approach, these innovations will be implemented in an actual working office environment so as to get realistic feedback.
Li-Fi
Unlike Wi-Fi, which uses radio signals, Li-Fi uses natural light to transmit data, resulting in faster speeds. With Li-Fi technology, office workers may be able to get on the network simply by having light shone onto a dongle connected to their device. A demo of this technology has already begun at NTU.
