Singapore's new fund structure a step in right direction
But industry players say sweeteners needed to draw funds away from established domicile centres

THE move to lure funds managed from Singapore to also domicile in the Republic offers great potential for the industry, but that alone may not be enough to break the inertia behind them choosing existing tried and tested rival domiciles.
Industry players who embraced the new law allowing a new type of corporate entity called the Variable Capital Company say some sweeteners may be needed to compel a move here.
