Singapore shares end higher on Friday
SHARE prices on the Singapore bourse closed higher on Friday, with the key Straits Times Index up 29.65 points, or 0.95 per cent, to 3,161.42.
About 1.4 billion securities worth S$924.8 million in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$0.66 per share. Gainers outnumbered losers 215 to 159, or about four securities up for every three down.
The most actively traded stock was Rex International, which gained 0.2 Singapore cent, or 2.06 per cent, to end at S$0.099 after 71.9 million shares changed hands. Other actives included BlackGold Natural Resources and ST Engineering.
