Greenback surge pares most of Sing dollar's 2018 gains
DBS sees S$1.38 to US$1 by year-end; but others expect recovery of up to S$1.27

THE surging greenback - bolstered by multi-front improvements in the US economy - is chipping away the Singapore dollar's gains made so far this year.
A stronger-than-expected surge by the US dollar on Tuesday and Wednesday prompted DBS Bank FX strategist Philip Wee to note that the Singapore unit is now within striking distance of giving up all its gains this year against the US dollar.
