EPL serves up a Saturday derby day feast
After Everton battles Liverpool, all eyes will be on Manchester, as City could seal EPL title by beating United
WHENEVER two football teams from the same city collide on the field, you can surely expect nothing less than a fiery and feisty match from start to finish. The English Premier League (EPL) is serving up not one, but two delectable derby games on Saturday night, and both fixtures promise to be action-packed clashes involving some of the biggest stars in the sport.
First up is the Merseyside derby - the 231st meeting between arch-rivals Everton and Liverpool, and a hot-blooded fixture that has produced 35 red cards, more than any other game since the inception of the EPL in 1992.
This match is the first of the weekend, and kicks off at lunchtime (7.30pm, Singapore time) at Everton's 39,572-capacity Goodison Park stadium. Liverpool make the short trip to the home of their enemy in buoyant mood, having dished out a three-goal thrashing to EPL leaders Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Wednesday.
