If you think you've spotted someone you know behaving like an out-of-towner sometime in the last fortnight, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Chances are, he or she was checking out the Singapore Heritage Festival (SHF), organised by the National Heritage Board.

Back for its 15th edition, this year's festival has set its sights on five key locations across the island. Through a curated programme consisting of guided tours, exhibitions, performances and more, the public got a chance to see the island in a new light.

On the opening weekend a fortnight ago, Jurong was in the spotlight as participants learnt about its industrial heritage and the nation-building role it played. The defunct Jurong drive-in cinema was also recreated at Jurong Town Hall, with screenings of local classics like Army Daze and Chicken Rice War.
