If you live in Holland Village or Tanjong Pagar, don't be alarmed at the sudden influx of visitors to your neighbourhood. They're just there for the pop-up events and temporary installations organised for the community to enjoy.
Singapore Design Week (SDW) activities used to be concentrated in a formal setting at the National Design Centre, or commercial buildings such a the F1 Pit Building. This year, design firms such as HJGHER and LOPELAB are showcasing their work in the suburbs, to reach out to a wider audience.
They are among the many ground-up initiatives to be seen in this fifth edition of SDW, which organiser DesignSingapore Council (Dsg) wants to encourage.
