Hong Kong: Stocks surge to reverse previous day's loss

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares ended a volatile week with a healthy gain on Friday, extending the previous day's rally, after Donald Trump agreed to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for denuclearisation talks.

The Hang Seng Index rallied 1.11 per cent, or 341.69 points, to end at 30,996.21.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.57 per cent, or 18.76 points, higher at 3,307.17 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rallied 1.56 per cent, or 28.91 points, to 1,885.38.
