ST Engineering to unify brands, eyes health and medical tech
ST Engineering announced it will be moving to a unified brand from June this year to build stronger brand equity, group president and chief executive Vincent Chong said during the company's earnings briefing on Friday.
Mr Chong said that the group will be moving away from a portfolio of brands to a more unified approach.
"We will start to phase out the use of brands such as ST Aerospace, ST Electronics, Kinetics and Marine," Mr Chong said.
"All our corporate brands will be harmonised globally with ST Engineering as the master brand."
He also announced the group will be exploring new avenues for growth in 2018, especially in health and medical technology.
Looking at ageing populations around the world, Mr Chong said that medical technology will be a growth area for the group.
"To ensure we accord the right focus for these efforts, we are evaluating the setup of a new business team outside of our four business sectors to help us develop these new enterprises and ventures," Mr Chong said.
