Hong Kong: Stocks begin day with gains
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks rose in the first few minutes of trade on Wednesday, tracking overnight gains on US markets that saw the Nasdaq close at a fresh record.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.34 per cent, or 96.97 points, to 28,342.51.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.02 per cent, or 0.63 points, to 3,393.97, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged up 0.01 per cent, or 0.23 points, to 2,002.51.
