There's a scene in the movie Trading Places where a character in a fine dining restaurant jokes about looking at "that S car go''. The Audi S4 is also an S car but this flagship of the A4 range will never be associated with a snail.

The new Audi S4 3.0 TFSI quattro tiptronic is the souped-up version of the ninth-generation A4 compact sedan.

Under the bonnet, there is a new 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine instead of the old V6 supercharged, but with an identical displacement. Not only is the turbo unit lighter - it contributes to the new S4 weighing a total of 75 kg less than its predecessor - but it also features Audi's B-cycle compression process.
