Taiwan February CPI dips, but up slightly in Jan-Feb
[TAIPEI] Taiwan's consumer price index for February fell 0.04 per cent from a year earlier, largely as prices pulled back after the Lunar New Year celebrations, the government said on Tuesday.
For January-February combined, consumer inflation picked up 1.09 per cent from the same period a year ago, data released by the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics showed.
The long holiday began in late January this year, but fell in February last year. To reduce that distortion, economists and investors look at combined data for the first two months of the year for a more accurate reading on economic trends.
