Europe: Stocks slide at open

[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets dropped almost one per cent in value at the open on Monday, mirroring a downbeat showing by Asia and the US dollar.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index shed 0.8 per cent to 7,275.77 points compared with Friday's close.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 lost 0.9 per cent to 11,957.65 points and the Paris CAC 40 declined 0.9 per cent to 4,975.09.
