Tokyo: Stocks open higher on weaker yen

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Friday as exporters and banks rose on a weaker yen and solid US growth data.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.56 per cent, or 106.64 points, to 19,169.86 in early trading, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.59 per cent, or 9.07 points, at 1.536.66.
