Hong Kong: Stocks open higher
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks kicked the trading day off with a rise Thursday, extending the previous day's gains, as investors followed a record close on Wall Street.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.21 per cent, or 48.39 points, to 23,533.52.
But in Shanghai the composite index edged down 0.07 per cent, or 2.29 points, to 3,164.69, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, dipped 0.05 per cent, or 0.95 points, to 1,940.84.
