Europe: Stock markets rise at open

[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets rose at the start of trading on Wednesday following gains across much of Asia.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index won 0.1 per cent to 7,187.43 points compared with the closing level on Tuesday, which was a record high.
In the eurozone Wednesday, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index opened with a gain of 0.2 per cent at 11,608.4 points and the Paris CAC 40 climbed 0.3 per cent to 4,912.95.
