THE Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has singled out a former star banker from Goldman Sachs for his purportedly "false statements" linked to tainted 1MDB flows and which were issued to a Luxembourg-based financial institution.

The central bank said it intends to impose a 10-year ban on ex-director of Goldman Sachs Singapore Tim Leissner, which will prevent him from effectively operating in Singapore's market for the period.
