Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks extend gains at open
[HONG KONG] Stocks rallied again at the open Thursday in Hong Kong, taking a lead from another record on Wall Street, with investors looking ahead to a European Central Bank meeting later in the day.
The Hang Seng index rose 0.88 per cent, or 200.71 points, to 23,001.63.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.10 per cent, or 3.31 points, to 3,225.55 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged up 0.06 per cent, or 1.34 points, to 2,091.67.
