China trade strong in November as global demand picks up
Improvement is seen to be broad-based, with Chinese exports to the US, EU and EMs all increasing
Beijing
CHINA trade picked up last month on stronger domestic and external demand but analysts warn the outlook remains murky into 2017 as emerging economies remain weak and the US raises the risk of protectionist measures.
Exports rose 0.1 per cent to reach US$19.7 billion, the first time in positive territory in seven months on the back of a weaker yuan and increased shipments to China's trading partners. Imports were up 6.7 per cent at US$15.2 billion last month as China's companies imported commodities to respond to a surge in the construction sector.
