Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks open lower on US vote fears

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks tracked losses in New York at the open Wednesday after a US presidential election poll showed Donald Trump ahead of market favourite Hillary Clinton less than a week ahead of the vote.
The Hang Seng Index fell 0.87 per cent, or 201.01 points to 22,946.06.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.21 per cent, or 6.71 points, to 3,115.73, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.19 per cent, or 3.95 points, to 2,069.16.
