Asia will adjust to new reality of Trump order
ASIA will come to terms with the reality of a Donald Trump presidency as the shock of his widely unexpected victory wears off. The continent should fare well given its vast experience of dealing with America, where partisan change has not destroyed the resilience of its political system.
It was Mr Trump's intemperate remarks on America's relations with Asia that worried many in the region.
However, an election campaign draws out the worst (and the best) in contenders. The realities of office are mundane. The question is whether the exigencies of office change the leader, or he changes them. It is likely to be a combination of the two.
