Keppel Singmarine bags deals for two LNG-fuelled tugs
Construction of harbour tugs, part of Singapore's LNG bunkering pilot programme, due for completion in 2018
Singapore
KEPPEL Offshore & Marine's subsidiary Keppel Singmarine is set to construct its first pair of dual-fuel diesel liquefied natural gas (LNG) harbour tugs that will be part of Singapore's LNG bunkering pilot programme.
The tug contracts are from two towage joint ventures of Keppel O&M - Keppel Smit Towage Pte Ltd and Maju Maritime Pte Ltd. The two joint ventures have on order one tug each with Keppel Singmarine. The two tugs are expected to use bunkering services provided by FueLNG, a Keppel Corporation joint venture with Royal Dutch Shell.
