Veritas study highlights concerns over data hoarding
The company advises firms to put policies in place that constantly query the usefulness of the data stored

THE more the merrier, or so goes the mantra with regard to data in this age of big-data analytics. With storage becoming very cheap, ginormous amounts of data are being collected and stored, and there's even a name for it - data hoarding.
Interestingly, it's not just individuals who are storing thousands of files in their computers; even companies are hoarding data, and keeping unnecessary files instead of deleting them.
