IT is far too early to predict the long-term economic impact of Zika on Singapore. What's needed now is for everyone to focus on controlling the spread of the virus. Every household needs to do its part by being responsible and by consistently practising the simple but effective steps of the "Mozzie Wipeout". It is not someone else's responsibility, it's ours. The spread of viruses like dengue and Zika is often caused by thoughtless behaviour in our neighbourhoods. If every household does its part, we and Singapore will be better off. That's the best way to limit Zika's impact.
