Consumer confidence in US rose to 101.1 in August from 96.7

[WASHINGTON] Consumer confidence in the US increased to an almost one-year high in August, the New York-based Conference Board said in a report on Tuesday.
The group's index rose to 101.1 this month from a revised 96.7 reading in July, the private research group said. The median projection in a Bloomberg survey of economists was 97, with estimates ranging from 94.5 to 99.8.
