Panellists: Ensure core business is solid when tackling disruption
Singapore
COMPANIES and firms can look to disrupt the industries they are in, but they must ultimately be good at what they are doing, said panellists at the FutureChina Global Forum on Monday.
At a panel discussion that focused on how the Internet can drive new growth sectors in China, panellist Liu Xin said the Internet revolution is already upon China, and companies must acknowledge this reality. Therefore, they should embrace disruptive technologies, or face being made redundant by competitors who do, said Mr Liu. He is general manager of Citic Guoan Group, a Beijing-based holdings company that invests in multiple industries.
