Speakers cite global issues such as rise in insularity, terrorism as threats to China's transformation

TENSIONS in the South China Sea got only the briefest of mentions at the start of a high-level forum here that looked at opportunities in China's new economy amid changing global and domestic realities.
Even so, disputes over the South China Sea were clearly still on attendees' minds after a ruling last week by an international tribunal that was seen as a diplomatic failure for China.
