Asian currencies spared - for now

But strategists see further weakening of regional currencies as uncertainty of UK-EU split lingers

    ASIAN currencies were spared much of the turmoil their British and European counterparts experienced on Friday.

    But as markets roiled from the turbulence brought on by a United Kingdom vote to leave the European Union, observers called for a more concerted response from policymakers to smoothen expected volatility in currencies in this region.
