S'pore charges ex-banker with money laundering
Sources say the charges laid before ex-BSI SA employee stem from the local probe into the money flows of 1MDB
Singapore
SINGAPORE authorities have charged a former private banker with money laundering, following their probe into an embattled Malaysian state investment fund, people familiar with the case have said.
Yeo Jiawei, a former wealth planner at the Singapore arm of Swiss private bank BSI SA, was charged on April 16, said these sources. The charges made no mention of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), but stemmed from the probe into the fund's money flows, the sources said.
