Tokyo: Stocks end four-day rally ahead of central bank meetings

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks fell Monday, snapping a four-day rally after investors turned to profit-taking ahead of two key central bank meetings and the start of Japan's corporate earnings season.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 0.76 per cent, or 133.19 points, to close at 17,439.30, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares was down 0.40 per cent, or 5.67 points, at 1,401.83.
