Thai junta plans more economic stimulus measures
[BANGKOK] Thailand plans additional stimulus measures to help boost consumption, the finance minister said on Monday, as the military government struggles to revive sluggish economic growth.
The government plans grants for low-income earners as well as a tax break on spending and tourism during the country's water festival next month, Finance Minister Apisak Tantivorawong told reporters.
He also said preliminary data showed exports in February rose 10 per cent from a year earlier, due mainly to gold shipments. Excluding gold exports, exports grew 2 per cent, he added.
