Govt wants S'pore to be model for successful ageing
THE government will give more retirement support to needy seniors and build a strong community network to develop a model for successful ageing in Singapore, said Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat.
The retirement help will come from the Silver Support Scheme unveiled in Budget 2015, and which was to have been rolled out around the first quarter of this year.
Silver Support is targeted at the bottom 20 per cent of Singaporeans aged 65 and above, with a smaller degree of support extended to cover up to 30 per cent of seniors.
