PTTEP to sanction expansion of gas field off Myanmar in Q2
The project is aimed at stabilising export-gas volumes in light of an emerging shortfall in domestic output
Singapore
IN the second quarter, Thailand's state-owned PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) is set to sanction Phase 1C of the Zawtika gas field development off Myanmar - a project deemed critical in the stabilising of export gas volumes in the face of an emerging shortfall from domestic output.
Zawtika 1C features up to four wellhead platforms (WHPs), which are being tendered out under an engineering procurement, construction, installation and commissioning contract. The project budget has not been announced, but is believed to run into hundreds of millions of dollars.
