Indonesia's annual inflation rate cools to 4.89% in November
[JAKARTA] Indonesia's annual inflation rate eased significantly in November as the base for comparison was high due to an oil-price hike one year earlier.
The statistics bureau said on Tuesday that November's annual rate was 4.89 per cent, almost identical with the median forecast of 4.88 per cent in a Reuters poll, and much cooler than 6.25 per cent in October.
The government raised fuel prices in November last year, which caused other prices to spike.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were 0.21 per cent up from October.
Core inflation, which excludes food and administered prices, also cooled on a yearly basis to 4.77 per cent in November, from 5.02 per cent in October.
