BUOYED by the progress of Funtasy Island in Indonesia's Riau province across from Singapore, its promoters are contemplating a far larger seafront development on Malaysia's East Coast in Kuala Rompin, across from popular Tioman Island.

Billed as "Asia's largest ocean- facing residential and commercial development", the South Oceans project will be sited on a single 486-hectare tract of land in Pahang that includes a 5.5 kilometre private beachfront.
