SCC president, deputy survive ouster bid
THE president and deputy president of the Singapore Cricket Club (SCC) both emerged unscathed from a special general meeting on Thursday night, when the resolution to oust them from their posts failed to go through.
Seven of the club's general committee members had earlier called for the meeting to remove club president Baldev Singh and his deputy Brian Teo, who had drawn criticism over their plans to manage the finances of the country's second-oldest sports club.
Mr Singh and Mr Teo survived the resolution, securing the majority of the votes cast at the meeting, which reportedly lasted nearly five hours and attracted more than 600 people.
