SP Services cuts electricity tariffs in Singapore on cheaper natural gas
ELECTRICITY tariffs in Singapore will decrease by an average of 9.3 per cent, or 2.06 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh), in the fourth quarter compared to the previous quarter, SP Services said on Thursday.
The cut from Oct 1 to Dec 31 is due to the lower cost of natural gas for electricity generation which fell by 18.4 per cent compared to Q3 2015, it added.
Excluding corporate clients, electricity tariff for households will be revised to 20.35 cents per kWh for Q4 2015. The average monthly electricity bill for families living in four-room HDB flats is expected to fall by S$8.78, or 9.2 per cent.
