Singapore shares open marginally higher on Thursday

SINGAPORE shares opened marginally firmer on Thursday despite weaker regional markets after US stocks fell on earnings concerns.
The blue-chip Straits Times Index (STI) was trading around 2,996.21 at 9.02am, up 0.41 per cent, or 12.29 points.
About 55.70 million shares, valued at S$71.2 million, were traded. Gainers outpaced losers at 76 to 58.
DBS, UOB and ComfortDelgro led the value traded.
