Shanghai, Hong Kong: Stocks retreat in opening exchanges

[HONG KONG] Shanghai stocks slipped in the first few minutes of trade on Tuesday after ending the previous day at their highest level in two months.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.60 per cent, or 20.44 points, to 3,409.14, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.87 percent, or 17.72 points, to 2,012.76.
The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong dipped 0.27 per cent, or 63.13 points, to 23,053.12.
