'Plus' factor at work in TranZplus Engineering
Behind every good product is a motivated work team, says Nelson Lim, chief executive of the provider of total solutions for mechanical power transmission
Singapore
FROM starting a company to meet the needs of a family of four, TranZplus Engineering's chief executive Nelson Lim now has a family of 38 under his care. Mr Lim had been casually trading in mechanical power transmission components since 2000, but it was not until after the global financial crisis that he decided to take it up a notch.
Affected by investments gone awry, and with a daughter and son then aged seven and four respectively, Mr Lim found himself at the crossroads. "I need to bring food to the family, so that sparked me, I cannot be contented anymore. As the kids grow up...the family needs more money," he said.
