FUND flows from advanced to emerging markets suffered severe turbulence in July, including heavy net outflows, although India markets have proven to be a refuge in the emerging-market storm, the Washington-based Institute of International Finance (IIF) said.

Sonja Gibbs, its director of capital markets, said on Wednesday, upon the release of the institute's latest data: "The share of emerging-market assets in fund investors' portfolios has dropped to a post-crisis low."
