Detention of Singapore ships down in 2014

THE number of Singapore-flagged ships detained worldwide fell to 47 last year from 68 in 2011 and the detention rates for Singapore ships were also relatively low in 2014, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has said in its recently released annual report.
MPA is one of the first organisations in the maritime industry and public sector to provide sustainability and integrated reporting as part of its annual reports, it added in a statement on Thursday.
