Exploring the relationship between 2 lands through objects

WHAT happens when you're born in one country, but grow up in another? His relationship between two lands has provided much creative fodder for artist Ahmad Abu Bakar.

Malaysian-born, Ahmad grew up in Singapore as his parents moved here from Malacca when he was young. He continues to hold Malaysian citizenship, and is a permanent resident here. By all intents and purposes though, he identifies himself as Singaporean.

"I'm acknowledged and seen as a Singapore artist, and let's put it this way - in a soccer match between Singapore and Malaysia, I'd be supporting the Singapore team," quips the 52-year-old.
