HRW critical of JICA, optimistic about AIIB

THE China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is likely to observe international standards in avoiding abuses to individuals and communities impacted by infrastructure projects in Asia and elsewhere, says Brad Adams, a senior executive of Human Rights Watch (HRW).
He spoke in Tokyo last Thursday after the leading non-governmental organisation which monitors human rights around the world delivered a surprisingly sharp critique of the rights record of Japanese governmental organisation Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
